ABOUT THE WorkThe practice of wishing harm upon adversaries and their possessions is a popular phenomenon observed across various spiritual practices. In the performance “Que Se Muera,” Ibarra transforms potent political messaging into a witty curse and chant, creating magic between herself and the audience. The curse does more than just signal recognition of political subjects; it intentionally draws on our shared anger to drive us toward collective action and political chant.
